Minca is a response to the most talked about but quietly acted on design challenge of the 21st Century – how to preserve humanity in the light of massive technological innovation.
It is our belief design that reintroduces the spirit of adventure, sense of individual purpose, and the sensation of shared accomplishments into everyday life is necessary for humanity to flourish alongside technologies called "God-like” for their power to distract and divide.
To do this, we leverage the principles of timeless design and smart business as our foundation. Then we take things a step further by tapping into the principles of Minca (also called Minga), an ancient South American way of collaborative work, to ensure individual agency, familial bonds, and communal strength are always outcomes of the experiences we create.
We call this Connection Design. Through it, we embrace the complexity of our world and design from a system that balances:
Technology and Humanity
Abundance and Scarcity
Substance and Style
Modern and Ancient
Urban and Rural
While our experience in brand, product, and place design is strong, the goal of Minca is simply awe-inspiring real-world experiences that bring people together – we don’t have a preferred medium. Sometimes our creations are made in-house, other times we collaborate with others. If you share our mission, we’d love to connect.
